1. Loiza in The Belt

Inspired by the culture of Barrio Loiza in Puerto Rico, the Loiza installation by Carlos Rolón, located in The Belt in downtown Detroit, includes several components such as ceramic tiles, a garden made of cinderblock and artificial flowers, handcrafted macrame plant hangers and palm trees. Not only does the installation make for the perfect photo opp, but during the weekends in the summer, you can grab a drink from the bar and escape to your own little slice of paradise in the middle of the city.
2. Lost River

This rum-focused tiki bar located on Detroit’s east side has more to offer than just its Instagramable cocktails that come in “cool mugs.” From rotating guest chefs, pop-ups and food trucks, you’ll come for the drinks, but stay for the food and the tropical atmosphere.
