Hi friends! Welcome to a fresh new week! I hope you had a wonderful, restful weekend

Posted by admin on

I sure did! In fact, on Friday, I overslept my 6 AM alarm and didn’t wake up until 8:07! Totally missed my work out with Matt and I think that that’s the first time that’s ever happened!

I guess sometimes we really do need to catch up on our rest. It does our mind and body good!

For my birthday, Brian gifted me a spa certificate and I used it on Friday afternoon to get a hydrafacial.

I think I’ve only gotten three facials in my life, so this was definitely a treat! It was so lovely to relax and let someone pamper my skin.  The hydrafacial is a technique that cleanses the skin by extracting the impurities that form in your pores and simultaneously removes dead skin cells while the skin is infused with cleansing, hydrating, and moisturizing serums.

During my visit, the aesthetician was stressing the importance of: 1) daily sunscreen and, 2) eye cream as the two most crucial steps in our skin care routine.

Of course, I knew sunscreen was number one since it protects our face from the damaging rays of the sun that cause cancer, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.  But I didn’t realize that eye cream was the close second.  It helps protect the delicate skin around our eyes and because that area is thinner than other areas of our face, it needs extra attention.

The Alastin Skincare line was recommended and I’m giving their sunscreen and eye cream a try.

Alastin Sunscreen • Restorative Eye Treatment • Nail Color (Lisbon Wants Moor)

The Restorative Eye Treatment with TriHex Technology reduces the appearance of dark circles, helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles, diminishes puffiness, and promotes even skin tone.

The TriHex Technology is a blend of active peptides and key ingredients that works with the skin to clear out damaged elastin and collagen and support the skin’s natural ability to produce new, healthy elastin and collagen.

The Restorative Eye Treatment can improve the appearance of wrinkles and skin texture in just 4 weeks.  You can see a video demonstration here and the results are pretty amazing.

I’ve only been using it since this weekend, so I haven’t seen those results yet, but I do like the how the pump dispenses just the right amount of product onto your finger for a precise dosage and you don’t have to dip your finger into a pot to get the product out.

You can use the Restorative Eye Treatment morning and evening.  Simply apply 1 pump to the area around the eye, on the upper eyelid, and under the brow bone.  Just skip the bottom part of your eyelid.

As for sunscreen, it took me years to find one that didn’t cause breakouts all over my face.  For that reason, I used to not even wear it!

I finally found a few that work well with my skin and have been using it daily ever since.  I can now add the Alastin Sunscreen to my sunscreen arsenal.  I used it all weekend and no breakouts!  It’s lightweight and non-greasy and disappears under my makeup.

I also apply the sunscreen down into my neck and chest and onto my hands.  I think we often forget about our hands, but it’s important to protect them too!  They are always bare and exposed to the sun when we drive.

Isn’t it wild how we used to pour baby oil onto our skin and fry in the sun in the summer.  Now I want to avoid the effects of the sun as much as possible! But, I still love to be outside!

This Alastin Sunscreen is broad spectrum (providing both UVA & UVB protection) SPF 30 and it’s water resistant for up to 80 minutes.  I’m going to bring it to Mexico with me next week!

Most of the items in this post are from Loft, but I’ve got a few from Nordstrom sprinkled in too. Which is a good thing, because their Big Spring Sale is happening now!

JEWELRY WORN: Necklace • Beaded Bracelets • Budha Girl Bracelets

SIZE REFERENCE: I’m petite, 5’1, about 110 pounds.  I usually wear 0P or 25 in jeans and XS or 0P tops.

Sweater Tank • Jean Shorts • Sandals

I can’t believe we’re almost to April and we have the weather to prove it.  I find myself reaching for jean shorts and a sweater tank is perfect this time of year.  This one is a fun marbled print with a “V” shape in the front and back.

Tank Fit: I’m wearing an XS

These are a perfect everyday jean short with a medium wash, high waist and frayed hem.

Shorts Fit: I’m wearing my true size 25 in Indigo Wash.  I feel like they are a tiny bit big, but I’m probably going to machine wash and dry them so they shrink a tad.  I’m afraid sizing down would be too small for the relaxed fit I prefer in my jean shorts.

Sweater Tank • Jean Shorts • Sandals

Sweater Tank • Shorts • Sandals • Crossbody

Although jean shorts are what I opt for most often, sometimes you prefer something not quite as casual.  These cotton shorts fit slim through the hip and easy through the thigh.  You can belt them and they have double front pockets, as well as back welt pockets.  They look more dressy, so they pair well with a button down top or a cami and cardigan.

Also available in Beige, Black, Green, Pink, White

Shorts Fit: I’m wearing a 0P, color “milky tan”

Sweater Tank • Shorts • Sandals • Crossbody

Sweater Tank • Shorts • Sandals • Crossbody

Sweater Tank • Shorts • Sandals

This sweater tank is versatile enough to be work at the office since it has a conservative cut and high neckline.  But, it will also be perfect on weekends and also comes in white.  I like how the texture of the top almost makes it look striped.  And you can machine wash it, but lay flat or hang dry.

Tank Fit: I’m wearing an XS

Shorts Fit: I’m wearing a 25P

Sweater Tank • Shorts • Sandals

Stripe Tank • Shorts • Sandals

Summer uniform in full effect here with my Tuesday Goodies sandals!  This tank is a wardrobe staple with the classic scoop neck and thin stripes.  I’m wearing white/olive, but it also comes in black/white.

Tank Fit: I’m wearing an XS

These shorts were in my last dressing room post and I love the relaxed, distressed look for weekend lounging or for throwing on over your swimsuit.  The cool thing about them is there is denim under the distressed part, so your bare skin doesn’t show through.

Jean shorts fit : These are a relaxed fit.  I’m wearing my true size, 25, and considered sizing down because they’re loose.  But, I washed and machine dried them and they did shrink a bit, which is what I wanted! If you don’t want yours to shrink, consider air drying.

Stripe Tank • Shorts • Sandals

Pocket Tee • Shorts • Sandals

I always stock up on these Caslon tees- a great basic with a rounded neck and small front pocket.  They are a bit sheer, but not see through.  I’m crazy for this light pink for Summer and they come in several colors and patterns.

Tee Fit: I’m wearing an XS

Pocket Tee • Shorts • Sandals

Sweatshirt • Shorts • Flip Flops

Forever a sweatshirt girl, and this bright pink hue is a bold pop of color.  It also has button embellishment at the shoulder and a 3/4 length puff sleeve.  The other colors are winners too!

Sweatshirt Fit: I’m wearing an XS

Shorts Fit: I’m wearing a 25 Petite in Indigo Wash

Cami  • Shorts • Sandals • Bamboo Clutch

Gosh, this little cami sure is sweet!  It’s got small florals throughout and also looks great with jeans or under a blazer.

Peplum Top • Jeans • Sandals

Ooh, flutter sleeve goodness and it’s in a peplum style lightweight sweater.  It really accentuates your figure in a nice way.

The jeans are by LOFT also and I like the light wash, high waist and they’re button fly.

Jeans Fit: I’m wearing a 25P

Peplum Top • Jeans • Sandals

Peplum Blouse • Jeans • Sandals

These next two peplum style tops are both gorgeous, easy to wear and flattering.  The red is vibrant with eyelet detail and flutter sleeves.  I like how they’ll take you from work to weekend.

Jeans Fit: I’m wearing 0

Peplum Blouse • Jeans • Sandals

Green Floral Top • Jeans • Clear Heels

Stripe Tank • Joggers • Sandals

Y’all seriously, GET THESE JOGGERS! I have been living in mine nonstop and they are so dang comfortable and cute!  They’re a lighter weight than the fleece joggers I’ve been wearing and I literally wear mine all.the.time!  Sitting at my computer, lounging around the house, running errands, school drop off- they are perfect for ALL THE THINGS.

They pull on with a flat, stretchy waistband and have double front pockets.  The bottoms are

Blouse • Pants • Clear Heels

Y’all know I’m crazy for these crop pants from Amazon.  They’re so comfortable, and perfect for the office, especially when it starts getting hot.

The top is sweet too! It’s dressy like a blouse with a mixed media texture- silky in the front, t-shirt material in the back. I like how it looks dressy, with a ruffled neck, but you can easily dress it down with jeans too.

Top Fit: I’m wearing an XS

Pants Fit: I’m wearing an XS

Blouse • Pants • Clear Heels

Stripe Tank Dress • Sandals • Woven Crossbody

I found the cutest stripe tank dress and I feel like it’s Madewell-inspired with the colors.  It’s a ribbed knit, not too clingy and you can wear it several ways.

Dress Fit: I’m wearing an XXS

Stripe Tank Dress • Chambray Shirt • Sandals

Dotted Dress • Clear Heels

Wowza! This dress is so pretty and wearable for many occasions from work to church to a shower, party or dinner date.  It’s a lovely shape, with a flutter sleeve and midi skirt.  The skirt has a small slit and is fully lined.

I love the movement when you walk and the peach take on traditional leopard print.

Dotted Dress

Jumpsuit • Sandals

I was taking these photos last Thursday (date night) and kept considering wearing the jeans and peplum top outfits to our early sushi dinner, but this jumpsuit won out!  I’m crazy for it!  It’s a lightweight stretchy knit that feels great on.

You step into it and the tank style top is fitted, then the crop pants skim your body and flare out.  It comes with the belt and has pockets.  You could easily switch out the coordinating belt for one of your own for another look.

Jumper Fit: I’m wearing an XXSP
I know we’re all crazy for sandals right now and these neutral ones are all so gorgeous!

CLOCKWISE : Top • Right • Bottom (on sale) • Left

Unfortunately, the sides on the Right are a bit too narrow for my bunion feet- I’m so bummed because otherwise, they’re so comfortable and cute!

The Bottom pair of slides aren’t too narrow and I love the way the grommets give them an edgy vibe.

The Left are a dressier sandal with a low heel- perfect for work, with dresses and skirts.

The Top pair are ultra cushiony and comfortable!

And finally, my Instagram account has been hacked.  I should have paid more attention to an email I got, but I ended up accidentally allowing access to hackers and they’ve locked me out of my account.

If you’ve sent me a DM with no response, or any response since Friday night- it wasn’t me.  I apologize so much!

I’m trying to get it fixed ASAP, but it’s not an easy/simple process.

I’ve heard Instagram users can help a person get their Instagram back by following these steps:

Go to your Instagram:

-3 lines top right corner
-Report a problem
-Something isn’t working

Send this message: “The account @honeywerehome has been hacked. Please help resolve the problem by contacting honeywerehomeblog@gmail.com

Thank you!”

I have been emailing Instagram and researching and trying different fixes, but so far, nothing has worked.

I guess sending the above message helps Instagram become aware of the problem and may help them fix is sooner!  I hate not being able to share Stories with you or chat with you via DM!

If any of you knows how to fix this, please let me know! You can email me at : honeywerehomeblog@gmail.com

Now let’s go kick Monday’s booty!
