Before we get into the ways you can incorporate a scarf, let’s first look at how Dr. Birx has been wearing hers! One of her go-to looks is using the scarf as a shawl by loosely draping it on her shoulders with a small knot in front. She switches up this look by how loosely the scarf is draped and adding a medium knot when the scarf is arranged tighter. Another one of her fabulous looks is wrapping the scarf around her neck once or twice with a medium knot in front close to her neck so that the ends hang down slightly. A simple but still very chic way she has styled a scarf is with a large loose knot in front up towards the neck allowing the ends to hang generously.
Drape it
Now, we are going to explore some other great ways to wear a scarf! One of the easiest ways to incorporate a scarf is by just draping it around your neck. This works best with a rectangular scarf, but you can make any shape work. Drape the scarf around your neck, wrap it around once and let drape, or wrap it a few times to create a soft choker look. Both ends of the scarf can be draped in the front or the back, or you can place one in front and one in back. Square scarves can be folded in half to drape over the neck and shoulders. Play around with the shape of the scarf you are using to see how it looks best around your neck.

Knot it
If you want to get a little more creative with your scarf, you can add knots and bows. Start with wrapping the scarf around your neck one or two times, then tie in front. You can play around with this by adjusting the number of times you wrap and incorporating different knots. Adding a bow with the knot can create a beautiful, feminine look. If you are working with a square scarf, fold it in half to make a triangle and then tie it in the back. Adjust the front portion to your liking.

Try it Somewhere Besides your Neck
If you are feeling adventurous, you can wrap the scarf in your hair or even use it as a belt! You can either fold your scarf or roll it to create a headband or turban. It can be braided into your hair or tied around a ponytail as well! Depending on the shape of the scarf, you can wear it as a belt or wrap it around your wrist for a fun bracelet look. You can even tie a scarf to a purse to add some flair!
There really is no wrong way to wear a scarf. There aren’t any rules so you can make your own! A nice scarf is a great accessory considering all the ways you can wear it! It’s also a great way to incorporate color and patterns to a dull outfit. Remember to have fun with the styling, and don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone a little in order to achieve an elevated look!
